Jusuf Kalla to Officially Open Bali Democracy Forum Tommorow

Liputan6.com, Jakarta - The annually held conference initiated by Indonesia back in 2008, Bali Democracy Forum (BDF) reportedly will occur again for the 8^th times in Bali Indonesia this year with its commencement reportedly tomorrow 10^th of December through to the 11 December 2015.

This year’s Bali Democracy Forum will be conducted akin to the first one where the interaction will be among those at Ministerial level not like the ones previously held where Heads of States and/or those at governmental level were the ones assigned to represent their country in the annually held forum of democratic nations within the Asia- Pacific region.

Indonesian Vice President Jusuf Kalla is said to have been given the role of officially opening this year’s Bali Democracy Forum. The General- Director of Indonesian Foreign Ministry division of Public Information and Diplomacy Esti Andayani makes further confirmation regarding Vice President Jusuf Kalla’s exclusive role for such international- scale event in Bali this year.

“Bali Democracy Forum will be officially opened by Vice President Jusuf Kalla and will formally start at approximately 10.00 am tomorrow,” Esti said at Nusa Dua Bali, Wednesday (9/12/2015).

“Vice President Jusuf Kalla said that he is well prepared for tomorrow’s event and that he has been requested by President Joko ‘Jokowi’ Widodo to represent Indonesia on behalf of him. In spite of being absent for tomorrow’s event, President Jokowi still considers it as of paramount of importance to attain its successful conduction as it shows a commitment to improve the welfare of the people and therefore Vice President Jusuf Kalla is assigned to perform such role,” she added.

2015 Bali Democracy Forum is themed ‘Democracy and Effective Public Governance’ with the aim of identifying the correlation that links democracy to effective governmental structure as to establish improvement upon peoples’ welfare.

The forum has been viewed as a platform to facilitate the conduction of constructive dialogue with focus concentrated particularly on democracy and its values.

The undertakings of the forum for the past 7 years have successfully spurred well-balanced political and economic developments as well as creating peaceful and regionally stabilized environment within Asia- Pacific dominion.
