Jokowi Meets Prabowo

Liputan6.com, Jakarta - President-elect Joko Widodo (Jokowi) met with Chairman of Gerindra Prabowo, on the 63rd birthday of his former rival. It was the first meeting between the two since July.

Jokowi visited Prabowo in Jalan Kertanegara No. 4, Kebayoran Baru, South Jakarta.

During the meeting, Prabowo asked his supporters from the 2014 presidential election to support the Jokowi-JK government.

"In any political battle it is reasonable to have loud rhetoric. But at the end there should be kindness, safety and welfare of the people," Prabowo said after meeting with Jokowi in JL. Kertanegara No. 4, Kebayoran Baru, South Jakarta, Friday (10/17/2014).

Prabowo also asked his supporters not to assume that the political differences, views and political competition should be a source of division. "There should not be, we are one country, one nation, we must unite," Prabowo said.

But he added that they would not hesitate to criticise Jokowi-JK. "If we found some things which are not for the benefit of our nation and people".

Jokowi also wanted to thank Prabowo, for wanting to meet him. "I am very happy to meet Pak Prabowo this morning," Jokowi said.

The meeting of two leaders had a positive impact. Composite Stock Price Index (CSPI) and had a positive move ahead of the closure of the first session of trading on Friday (10/17/2014).
