Japanese Ambassador Embraces 57 Years of Deep-Rooted Tie with RI

Today marks the 57th year of Japan- Indonesia diplomatic relation.

Liputan6.com, Jakarta Japan and Indonesia has a long-standing history together and that history has been translated into a strategic partnership which continues to be maintained in the most desirable way up until now. The relationship has grown to become more promising as each year passes.

“Today marks the 57th year of Japan- Indonesia diplomatic relation. The bond has thus far shows a remarkable progress,” Japanese Ambassador to Indonesia, Tanizaki Yasuaki stated in his speech for the ‘Reception to Celebrate 82nd Birthday of His Majesty The Emperor of Japan’ at Fairmont Hotel Jakarta on the night of Monday 14 December 2015.

Yasuaki explained how the year 2006 was an important period of time when Japan under Prime Minister Shinzo Abe in his first year of governing the nation and Indonesia welcomed a new concept of cooperation which is dubbed as ‘strategic partnership’.

“Indonesia has played a significant leadership role of attaining and maintaining peace, stability as well as prosperity in the South East Asian region so far. Japan has also contributed to the effort of developing such region along with Indonesia,” he further stated.

Ambassador Yasuaki said that countries in the South East Asian and East Asian regions are among those who lead in the global economy and their significance continue to grow overtime.

“Japan and Indonesia are expected to play a bigger role in the future,” he shared.

In his own diplomatic outlook, Indonesian President Joko ‘Jokowi’ Widodo has made concrete progresses in trying to deepen the relationship of Indonesia and Japan.
