French Ambassador: Singer Anggun Brings RI- France Closer

Liputan6.com was given the generous opportunity of conducting a special interview with Madame Ambassador Corrine Breuze.

Liputan6.com, Jakarta - The distance between Europe and South East Asia may be seen as a hindrance for a consistently maintained relationship between France and Indonesia, but the fact that the two continue to grow in importance in each other’s region immediately suggests that the bond is fairly strong and will continue to be a generally desirable one.

While the diplomatic relation was formally established in 1951, the informal tie has been binding the two predates back to the first half of 19th century.

The topics that were discussed throughout the exclusive session range from the traditional sectors of economics and trade, environment to Indonesian singer Anggun’s contribution to France creative industry and how it has contributed very largely to the deepening tie that already grew from decades ago.

“She’s a very great actress, well known in France and in Indonesia and she’s doing a lot to strengthen the relation between the two countries,” Madame Ambassador Corrine Breuze said.

The recently held Climate Change Conference (COP 21) in Paris also serves a platform for the two to bilaterally and multilaterally strengthen the cooperation particularly in the environmental sector. “Indonesia is very important. It has always been playing a big role.”
