Georgia Sought Boosted Educational Exchanges with RI Counterpart

Georgian Embassy in Jakarta held event to yield award for the winners of 'Mini World Project Essay Competition Georgia 2015'.

Liputan6.com, Jakarta - Georgia, a country in the Eastern Europe which has received very little exposure to the Indonesian nationwide audience, is trying to make furtherance of its ambition to deepen tie with Indonesia. The two countries are not linked to any specific conflict with one another and such condition comes as an advantage to build a platform designed to strengthen relationship in the absence of political and social hindrances that may halt the process of progressing the development in accordance to the mutually benefiting desires of the two parties.

The Ambassador of Georgia to Indonesia, His Excellency Zurab Aleksidze necessitated initiatives to strengthen such bilateral relation established between the two nations and recently launched academically- related venture called ‘Mini World Project Essay Competition Georgia 2015’ where Indonesian participants from various universities are encouraged to engage in such undertaking by creating an essay with direct relevancy to Georgia.

On the night of November 7 2015, Georgian Ambassador holds the awarding ceremony of winners event dedicated for the aforementioned project. The event took place at the premises of the Embassy of Georgia in Kuningan, Jakarta.

“This is the project that never been implemented by any embassy, the Georgian embassy in any country and of course the idea is Georgia is a very small country so we need this kind of events and projects on initiatives to promote Georgia,” he spoke to Liputan6.com during awarding ceremony.

This idea of the competition gives the stimulus for all Indonesia to know more of Georgia and in return, I have found a lot of ideas, their good advices, even discussing and analyzing the bilateral relationship,” he further stated.

According to Ambassador Zurab, the Georgian Embassy in Jakarta has finalized an agreement with the University of Indonesia and Georgia State University in Georgia to arrange visit of delegations from both institutions to sign such agreement thereby allowing future beneficial exchanges in opportunities such as exchanges of students and professors from universities in both countries.
