70 RI Police Academy Graduates to Study in non-Corrupt Countries

Indonesia will apply the system of police institutes in foreign countries where competent students will further study abroad.

Liputan6.com, Jakarta For a relatively long time, the Indonesian police force has been slightly viewed pejoratively as susceptible to the undertakings of corruption. Even when all are not justifiably like what the common misperception is, there is still a need to assure the population further regarding the national police force’s refusal to engage in both morally and financially corrupt ventures.

National Police Deputy Chief, Budi Gunawan takes such matter to a new height and informs that his department has sent as many as 70 highly competent graduates from the Police Academy to make furtherance of their study abroad. Such decision was based on the premise that these individuals ought to learn differing types of forces and competence whilst absorbing methods of non- corrupt character- building.

“The quota for this year is only for 70 people. It is expected that the year progresses, it will be increased so that many of our subsequent generations in the police academy can indulge in such privilege and become better and well- prepared cadres” Budi said, Tuesday (27/10/2015).

The Jakarta Regional Police Chief, Tito Karnavian shares how police institutes in countries such as Singapore, the United States and Germany require its best graduates to engage in a program called ‘express way’ similar to of an acceleration program for the highly competent students.

Such program entails its students from the police academy to make furtherance of their study abroad in countries where corruption rate is relatively low in their police department and where non- corrupt character is established as the main moral grounds.

“I have requested for 70 of our competent graduates to be sent abroad to non- corrupt countries and so after they graduate they can pass on their knowledge and habit to others. (Akp/Rie)
