Algeria Admires Democracy and Religion Coexistence in Indonesia

Liputan6.com, Jakarta - Indonesian Head of Consultative Assembly (MPR), Zulkifli Hasan met with the Ambassador of Algeria to Indonesia, Abdelkader Aziria to discuss and examine the progress of diplomatic relation established between the two countries.

Abdekalder shares the promising fact that the relationship binding the two nations has expanded from the inherently government to government relation and parliament to parliament, to now deepened people to people relation.

He also shares his admiration towards Indonesia and how the general public is able to amalgamate its predominantly Islamic culture with the very essence of democratic values.

"Indonesia has applied democratic system appropriately and has applied such endeavor by performing a successful selection four times in a row post- reformation era," Abdelkader said during his courtesy call earlier today to the MPR building, Monday (19/10/2015).

Zulkifli similarly responded in a relatively positive tone extending the discussion by sharing how Indonesia is the home of vast and varying cultures, tradition and religions where each and every one of its population accepts and tolerates coexistence with reliance placed predominantly on the very notion of 'Bhinneka Tunggal Ika'.

"MPR’s primary responsibility is to maintain such traditional perception and toleration. To preserve the very idea of Bhinneka Tunggal Ika," Zulkifli explained.

Zulkifli further admits the fact that he has been receiving scores of state visit request by leaders of Middle eastern countries where he is asked to represent Indonesia and share how to maintain a peaceful coexistence like the one carefully maintained in Indonesia. (Akp/Tnt)
