RI Exterminates Chinese Mafia Rp 1,2 trillion worth of Drugs

RI Drugs unit from Regional Force demolish crystal meth, marijuana, ketamine and ecstasy smuggled by Chinese mafia.

Liputan6.com, Jakarta - Drugs with net worth amounting to Rp 1,2 trillion has been demolished by Jakarta Region Police Department officials in the area of Soekarno Hatta International Airport. The Drugs unit of the regional police force has been working on the case for over three months and now has successfully accomplished their mission.

The findings that were destroyed include 470 kg of crystal meth, 637 ecstasy pills, 18,5 kg of marijuana and 2,5 kg of Ketamine or what has been widely known with its street name as 'special K'.

“Today, our department in the drugs division has conducted the extermination of drugs which have been the focus of intensive probing of the unit for the past 3 months,” Head of Jakarta Regional Police, Tito Karnavian informs, Thursday (8/10/2015).

Tito explains how the primary source of drugs- smuggling activity has always been the mafia in China with sea route as their method exploited for shipment. Some of them continue relying shipment via air route.

“Almost everything that we found comes from China. Sea and air route have always been their methods of shipment where conduction such as the transferring from one vessel to another deemed as part of the procedure to outsmart Indonesian authority and law enforcers,” Tito explains.

Indonesian government through its law enforcers continuously sought for the capture of perpetrators at international scale who have been operating drugs smuggling and distribution into Indonesian region. (Akp/Rie)
