Jakarta Governor Necessitated CAT Test and Interview on Candidate

Liputan6.com, Jakarta Jakarta Governor Basuki Tjahaja Purnama or what the general population colloquially call him as ‘Ahok’ has for several times reshuffled the people under him who have been proven as working ineffectively in the regional governmental agency.

In the selection process of civil servants (PNS) who have applied for positions in the regional government, candidates were scheduled to be interviewed and so this is where they will be examined in terms of their honest and commitment to providing services for the people in Jakarta.

“I hope for candidates to be able to comply with rules given, loyal, honest, possesses serving gesture, hardworking, serve the people with good deeds, instead of being overly creative. Their job is not to innovate new ideas, they just have to continue, maintain and make good use of the resources and existing information to make Jakarta a better place for its residence” Governor Basuki said, Jakarta, Tuesday (8/9/2015).

Apart from the interview, candidates had to go through Computer Analytical Testing (CAT) too in order for invigilators to find out their basic capabilities.

Each candidate will have to randomly finish the questions given through the computer. They will be informed immediately regarding the total score of their test.

The result will be combined with the grades given for the interview. This way, they can determine whether or not their psychological state of mind and analytical ability match the criterion set to be a PNS.

Governor Basuki necessitated CAT test that is combined with interview session because anyone can cheat their way out of a written or computerized test.

An interview would give the interviewer a closer look on the candidate’s personality and psychological state of mind. Therefore, interview session can be seen as an instrument used to make further assurance of someone’s justification to make it as a PNS. (Akp/Ein)
