Jakarta Governor Hopes Newly Elected Statesmen Work Effectively

Liputan6.com, Jakarta Jakarta Governor Basuki Tjahaja Purnama went to inaugurate 327 new statesmen on Friday 4 September 2015, to fill in regional government positions.

This is the fourth time throughout the period of 2015 for the regional government statesmen to be reshuffled by Governor Basuki.

In his speech, Governor Basuki shared his hope on making the recent reshuffle the last one to be executed as he believes that the agendas of the government will be hindered in actualization if statesmen continue to be replaced with the new ones who will have to start everything all over again.

He also shared his hope on the newly elected statesmen, wishing that they could present credibility, integrity, capability and honesty as they assume their new role.

The number of reshuffling done suggests the fact that many of those who have given the privilege of governmental roles fail to utilize their power properly and effectively.

"I really hope that this is the last reshuffling on our government. If all of you do good and act accordingly, then it is safe to assume that none of you will have to experience the agony of being reshuffled. We will perform evaluation on each and every one of in the first months of 2016," Governor Basuki said on Friday 4 September 2015.

Inaugural ceremony held yesterday includes the appointment of 215 new statesmen into the regional government, the allocation of 58 statesmen to staff positions, 96 statesmen from echelon 3 with 23 of them relocated to staff position as well and 1 retired. (Akp/Rie)
