Criminal Investigators to Announce 'Suspect' Among KPK Candidates

Liputan6.com, Jakarta - Amidst long-awaited selection process of Indonesian Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) leaders, a flaw has been found by the Indonesian Police Criminal Investigation Agency (Bareskrim Polri). According to the Agency, one among few of the candidates who have applied for Chairmanship positions has been alleged as a suspect that would make his ambition for candidacy an ironic one.

With the Agency currently probing the case, it is said to have been seeking a formal declaration as to 'who' has been named as a 'suspect'. The Agency has previously promised for such information to be announced on Monday 31 August 2015 and is likely to keep its promise as the truth gradually unravels.

Chairman of 'Indonesia Bersih' Committee, Adhie Massardi very much appreciates the Agency's belligerent and largely preventive move in doing so as it helps the overall government to find out first hand the candidate that is not institutionally appropriate to attain KPK Chairmanship position before each involving party start making the wrong decision.

Adhie presumes such move made by the Agency as the right instrument that would act as a catalyst to end or to threaten the very existence of a conflict similar to that of 'Cicak vs Buaya' that has resurfaced for several times.

"It is good to have prior knowledge and to anticipate any unwanted person or event before it wrecks havoc into the institution. Additionally, it would largely help the prevention of prolonged 'Cicak vs Buaya' conflict like we have been dealing with in the past," Adhie said on Sunday 30 August 2015. (Akp/Tnt)
