KPK Candidate Rebuts Claims of him Practicing Money Laundering

Liputan6.com, Jakarta - The Indonesian Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) is currently seeking for potential candidates to fill in the Chairman and Board Directors positions.

Selection process is currently underway with KPK Selection Committee (Pansel) meticulously examines each candidate's potentiality through interview session held, background checking on each candidate's career highlights and other type of procedures that are designed to further assure their capability.

One of the candidates, Saut Situmorang, also known to be the man who currently professes as the Indonesian Intelligence Agency Head of Specialized Staff, is currently under serious investigation following reports of him allegedly owning a company that operates money laundering practices.

"The company only serves as access to information, i can assure you that and i'll be damned if there is any likeliness that suggests otherwise or in any relevance to money laundering practices. It is possible that these allegations were created by those who dissaprove my candidacy. I didnt do anything, i dont know what they were talking about nor hearing such negative claim directly," Saut informed, Jakarta, Wednesday (26/8/2015).

He further informed how the company he owns is a legitimate one and transactions can be easily traced as the furtherance of justification.

"Money laundering usually can be traced by looking at the transactions performed and identifying the sender and recipient for such action. Those are recorded in banks. Whereas my company is a legal one and whatever transactions that we do can be easily traced," he continued.

"I dont mind having people reporting negative stuff about me, because running for KPK Chairmanship or top level position means that we ought to have scores of enemies," Saut concluded. (Akp/Tnt)
