RI Police to Participate in Joint Training with the British

Liputan6.com, Jakarta - Chief of Indonesian Police, Badrodin Haiti has previously requested for Armed Forces (TNI) Commander to allow his Mobile Brigade (Brimob) personnel to participate in a training with the Raider troops of TNI Special Command Force (Kopassus).

Such request was based on the premise that police force and especially its Mobile Brigade ought to equip themselves with the proper knowledge as to the containment as well as the eradication of terrorists in a largely difficult terrain such as the forest or jungle.

Wilderness is viewed to be a difficult setting for troops to perform their duty in and Kopassus' Raider troops have grown accustomed to the difficulty that wilderness presents and so Officer Badrodin thinks that training on its men by TNI eminent personnel is deemed necessitated.

Badrodin realizes that his men have adjusted mostly to urban areas where areas can easily be memorized but in a difficult terrain such as the forest, it will take longer time for anyone to remember.

TNI personnel have been trained in rough conditions, walk through difficult terrains, forced to seek their own food supply as it is fairly limited, stood strong despite volatile climate and most importantly, exerts all efforts to find terrorists while trying to stay alive.

"We can immediately see the difference between my men and TNI personnel. How they try to survive, how they manage to perform evacuation properly in operational regions, those are the things that we need to learn more from them," Badrodin said in Jakarta, Friday (21/8/2015)

According to Officer Badrodin, joint training has also been offered by the United Kingdom and he further declared that such cooperation not just with the local force, but also with other foreign forces will ultimately help his men to be mentally prepared in every terrain, climate, physical condition and also capable in detecting dangers around them.
