Jokowi Desires Replacement over Luhut's Head of Staff Position

Jokowi realizes rate of difficulty in maintaining two jobs at the same time for Luhut would affect his effectiveness.

Liputan6.com, Jakarta Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan's work is now doubled in amount and intensified in rate of difficulty as he has to handle two jobs at once.

Following his appointment as the Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs, he realized that he ought to take full responsibility for all matters surrounding these areas as well as divide his focus to being the Head of Staff in the Presidential Office.

Indonesian President Joko 'Jokowi' Widodo realized the fact that handling two tasks at the same time is quite difficult and said to have been considering a replacement for Luhut's position as the Presidential Office Head of Staff.

"I feel that we need a new leader for Presidential Office Head of Staff position because it will be too much of a work for him if we keep it this way. I have someone in my mind, someone that fits the criteria of being his replacement," President Jokowi said on Thursday 13 August 2015.

President Jokowi also took the time to deny any growing assumption about him letting Luhut taking two posts at the same time and claimed that appointment of new candidate will be done soon.

"Luhut's position as Chief of Staff in my office will soon be given to someone," he added. (Akp/Rie)
