Liputan6.com, Jakarta - Indonesian Minister of Public Housing and Works, Basuki Hadimuldjono is said to have been receiving a courtesy call from Australian Ambassador to Indonesia, Paul Grigson on Monday 10 August 2015.

Such courtesy call is claimed to be the Ambassador’s kind gesture of tightening his relationship with the Minister, as well as calls for cooperation in the sector of infrastructure between the two countries.

"Courtesy call was meant for the rebuilding and improvement of Indonesia- Australia relationship through discussion to cooperate in the sector of infrastructure, road building, sanitation, access to clean water and human resources," Minister Basuki uttered in his statement on Monday 10 of August 2015.

The two countries have reportedly established cooperation in a number of joint programs as to accomplish Indonesia’s infrastructure ambition.

One of those programs includes, Eastern Indonesia National Road Improvement Project (EINRIP), which is active in several Indonesian region like Bali, NTB, NTT, South Kalimantan, West Kalimantan, South Sulawesi, Central Sulawesi and North Sulawesi.

Moreover, Australia has also allocated a large amount of fund which has started in 2012, with the worth amounting to Rp 122 billion for the improvement of roads in the Nusa Tenggara Barat region.

This already suggests Australia’s commitment to Indonesia’s progress and this could effectively rebut all the negative sentiment which has strained the two nations’ relationship. (Akp/Tnt)
