Indonesian Pilot Responds to Accusation of Him Joining ISIS

Indonesian pilot claims to have worked for the Indonesian Navy before deciding to join aviation.

Liputan6.com, Jakarta Tommy Abu Alfatih, an Indonesian pilot has been accused of joining the radical extremist group Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS).

He immediately denied such claim the moment he was informed regarding the accusation placed upon him.

He admitted no linkage to the extremist group nor interest to join the group.

"I am in no way associated to ISIS. All of those accusations are false, they are not true," Tommy informed Liputan6.com on Friday (10/7/2015).

Tommy admitted that he was surprised to hear such accusation claiming his involvement in ISIS.

He explained further about he was doing in Australia and informed how he was just performing his duty as a hired pilot for a company which he refused to give information about.

"Yes, I went to Australia last year. I have reached the end of my contract with that company," he continued.

He then also went to admit that he was once in the Indonesian Navy for 10 years before he retired.

Thereafter, he decided to take aviation school at STPI. As to this day, he has flown aircrafts for more than 4.000 hours including to distant area such as The United States.

"I am not going to sue whoever it was who spread this issue and who went to accuse me. I forgive them," he added. (Akp/Ein)
