Greece Quickly Appoints New Finance Minister

The country is currently experiencing economic turmoil which led to the resignation of former Finance Minister Yanis Varoufakis.

Liputan6.com, Jakarta With Yanis Varoufakis' prominent resignation as Greece's Finance Minister yesterday, Greece has already appointed a new Finance Minister to take his place. Euclid Tsakalotos now stands as the beacon of hope for Greece to better negotiate terms of a bailout with Europe.

Varoufakis resigned Monday in order to ease the tension of his unfit relations with other European officials within the negotiation of a Greek bailout.

"Soon after the announcement of the referendum results, I was made aware of a certain preference by some Eurogroup participants, and assorted ‘partners’ for my 'absence' from its meetings: an idea that the prime minister judged to be potentially helpful to him in reaching an agreement. For this reason I am leaving the Ministry of Finance today," Varoufakis wrote in his personal blog post 'yanisvaroufakis.eu', on Monday 7 July 2015.

The world is still waiting for Europe's response to Greece's 'NO' vote.

Whether Greece falls into an even bigger pit of economic depression or Europe decides to give thought to another bailout plan, the Greek economic condition remains to loom above the heads of many.
