Indonesia Strives Against Experiencing Greece-like Crisis

Greece is now economically in crisis with instability feared to have generated an impact to other European regions.

Liputan6.com, Jakarta The situation in Greece is quite unpromising with reports confirming the subjugated nation's inability to pay off its debt to the International Monetary Fund (IMF), which is also worsened by its refusal to accept bail funds from European countries.

Indonesia is among many that worries over such economic upheaval as one country's economic instability has both short and long- term effects to the economies of other nations and the global one as a whole.

Despite the lack of immediate impact from Greece's economic instability to Indonesia, it is still preparing for the worst. Preparation ought to be made as Greece's loss may have an impact to other European nations which probably have direct economic links to Indonesia hitherto.

Thus, it is possible that such chaotic economic condition to be contagious to other nations.

Indonesian President Joko 'Jokowi' Widodo went to consult with the Chairman of Presidential Council, Sri Adiningsih on Monday (6/7/2015) regarding the situation.

Sri is asked by President Jokowi to provide him with a definite strategy to prevent the Indonesian economy from experiencing instability caused by the one happening in Greece.

"We didn't really discuss it in details about such matter but I believe that our economy is way better than that of Greece's," Sri informed, Monday (6/7/2015). (Akp/Ein)
