194 Candidates Compete Over Head of RI Anti-Corruption Position

Liputan6.com, Jakarta - The Indonesian Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) is currently seeking for the most qualified candidate to fill in 'top' position. 

The spokesperson for the Head of KPK selection committee (pansel), Betty Alisjahbana claims that the committee has selected as many as 600 potential candidates which now has narrowed down to 194.

These 194 potential succesors reported to have been successful in passing the administration stage.

Betty said that the committee needs to be very careful and fast at the same time in choosing the right candidate.

"We firstly have to read through the candidates' curricullum vitae with 2 staffs from the committee assigned to check each and every one of them. These two invigilators will have to discuss 1 candidate's CV during plenary session," Betty informed on Sunday, 5 July 2015.

This year's selection method is said to be significantly different from the previous one where it involves checking the candidate's background as well as its career highlights.

This method is used to help the committee decide whether or not the candidate's previous experience fits the leadership position in KPK.

"We ought to find the right candidate who can surpass all the challenges a leader might face because being the Head of KPK means taking a relatively big leap that may have consequences," Betty continued explaining.

Following successful preliminary stage, these potential successors will have to go through the 'objective' stage which will occur on July 8 2015. 

Should the candidate succeed, he will be assigned to write an essay about his very own formulated strategy to combat corruption. 

This test will allow for the committee to know further about their strategic and analytical capabilities. (Akp/Tnt)
