Ahok Suspects Politicians behind Demonstration Against Him

Liputan6.com, Jakarta - Hundreds of people marched their way to the home of Jakarta Governor Basuki Tjahaja Purnama on Tuesday night 26 May 2015, and perform what seems to be a belligerent kind of demonstration.

The demonstration immediately transformed into a riot disturbing the suburban area as soon as some of them wrecked havoc by climbing the entrance gate of the Governor's home. 

These people reportedly came from the area of Pinangsia situated in Ancol, North Jakarta. 

These people came uninvitedly in attempting to express their discontentment following Governor Basuki's eviction notice for all the settlement areas alongside Ciliwung riverbanks in North Jakarta.

Despite the growing dislike of people in that area towards him and the unwanted incident last night, Governor Basuki remains firm on his decision to perform such eviction. 

Governor Basuki claims that he has been receiving numerous text messages and calls from political parties statesmen, demanding for the cancellation of such eviction plan.

"Many politicians have tried to text and call me, lobbying in an effort to stop such eviction. I believe that they are politically- motivated," Governor Ahok informed, Jakarta, Wednesday (27/5/2015).

Governor Ahok however, pays no mind to such request as he thinks that his decision would be very beneficial for the people in the area and the yearly flooding issue can be addressed once and for all. (Akp/Tnt)
