Chinese Government to Yield 100 Scholarships Quota to RI Students

Liputan6.com, Jakarta - China's Deputy Prime Minister, Liu Yandong is currently in Jakarta to hold a session discussing the ties between the two countries. 

Her visitation into the country also includes giving a speech at Universitas Indonesia (UI), Depok, West Java. In her speech, she dwells on the notion concerning the imperativeness of Indonesia-China relations in many areas.

She views such relationship as not just mutually-beneficial for the two nations, but also a determinant factor to worldwide progress.

"The total population of two countries when combined is around 1,6 billion people which covers 1/4 of total world population," Liu shared in her speech, Wednesday (27/5/2015).

"Our relationship with Indonesia will not only carry with it, a prosperous trend of progress but also a big contributor to the development successes in Asia and all parts of world," she continued.

Therefore, she is hoping for the relationship to not only be based on several aspects but on broadened other sectors as well.

This means, economic relationship will not be the only determining ties that bind the two nations. 

She went to suggest the deepening cooperation in the education sector where she discussed the feasibility on giving access to Indonesian students, who want to pursue their academic ambition in China.

"China will facilitate Indonesian students with the privilege of having an extra 100 scholarships opportunity," she concluded. (Akp/Tnt)
