RI Thwarts Over ASEAN Countries Imprudent Rejection on Rohingya

Liputan6.com, Jakarta Hundreds and thousands of Rohingya population can be seen fleeing out of Myanmar and headed for Aceh. They went to escape from the calamitous conflict their country currently entrapped in.

The Indonesian Minister of Defence, Ryamizard Ryacudu thinks it is imperative for the government to help these population by providing them with secured refuge camp and primary needs such as food and beverages for the time being. 

Minister Ryamizard views the notion of helping each other as the most prioritized agenda at the moment toppling others.

"We are a country which is based on the principality of 'Pancasila'. Humanitarian venture will always be the first desired mission for us," Minister Ryamizard said, Tuesday (26/5/2015).

According to him, the voluntary rescue mission on Rohingya refugees should be principal in the government’s agenda. 

However, this does not mean that other political, legal and security affairs ought to be neglected.

Minister Ryamizard questions other ASEAN nations compassion towards these refugees as he feels that such collective compassionate response is important to show that every country in the region fights for humanity instead of against it. 

He was immediately discontented following reports of Malaysia and Thailand’s ignorance towards the Rohingya population. 

The two countries reportedly rejected these people when they attempted to seek refuge into these countries. (Akp/Ein)
