Indonesia to Become the Biggest Oil Producer in the World

PT. Pertamina uses moss (algae) to generate fuel that would make Indonesia largely acknowledged as the biggest producer in the world.

Liputan6.com, Jakarta - Indonesia is categorized as a rich country especially with its mounting natural resources, that could actually help each citizen fulfil their everyday needs.

Recent reports suggest that Indonesia can be counted as the biggest oil producer, by relying on the energy from vegetables (BBN).

In this particular case, Indonesia relies heavily on moss and have it combined with other substances deemed necessary for the creation of a fuel (BBM).

The Vice President of PT. Pertamina (Persero) Research and Development department, Eko Wahyu Laksono claimed that Indonesia's strategic geographical location as well as its nature’s condition have allowed for it to have the potentiality to develop moss.

"It is not about Indonesia's rainy season nor its inability to have a winter season. Indonesia is blessed with a continuous tropical season, which has allowed for vegetables or algae to grow all year long with no intervention from any other kind of climate," Eko shared in Jakarta, Monday (18/5/2015).

According to Eko, PT. Pertamina has done a thorough research on moss and they have confirmed the fact that such type of algae is capable of transforming itself into energy that will be beneficial for the creation of fuel.

It is very much similar to internationally-standardized solar type Euro IV and V. He is even convinced by the notion of Indonesia being able to become the largest vegetable-induced fuel (BBN) in the world by developing moss. (Akp/Tnt)
