Indonesia Weeps over the Death of Senior Comedian Didi Petet

Liputan6.com, Jakarta Indonesia currently mourns over death of yet another local comedian, Didi Petet. 

The famous Indonesian comedian death was announced by one of his closest colleagues, Butet Kartaredjasa through his twitter account. 

He died at 05.30 am, source say.

"Farewell my fellow comedian Didi Petet. Looking forward to joke around with you again up there," Butet tweeted this morning, Friday (15/5/2015).

Meanwhile, Didi Petet's twitter account has not yet given any information regarding his passing- away.

Up until now, the family of the deceased has not yet announced any formal statement confirming his death.

The 58-year-old comedian and actor was born in Surabaya. 

It has been learned that Didi was suffering from an acute illness prior to his passing away.

The sickness that led him into biting the dust remains unknown. 

Many of his fans profoundly saddened by the news. Three days before the announcement of his death became viral, the famous comedian travelled to Milan, Italy to attend the 2015 World Expo Milano. 

Reports suggest that his body is currently in the funeral house located in Pamulang, South Tangerang.

The Indonesian comedian/ actor was well known for his prominent role in the movie 'Catatan Si Boy', 'Petualangan Sherina', 'Eiffel I'm in Love', 'Jermal', 'Banyu Biru' and many other equally popular Indonesian movies. 

One of the highlights of his career includes the nomination bestowed upon him  as the most favourite leading male role in the movie 'Jermal' for 'Piala Citra FFI' event in 2009. (Akp/Ger)
