Initially Survived Burnt SEA Games Plane Pilot Finally Died

Pilot managed to stay alive for quite sometimes despite 70% of his body severely burnt.

Liputan6.com, Jakarta - The single-seater plane that was scheduled to be used for the 2015 SEA Games reportedly caught on fire after its engine flared up and caused for the whole aircraft to transform into no more but ashes.

Moments after the working officers at the sites put out the fire, pilot Sugeng Sukarsono was evacuated with 70% of his body severely burnt. He managed to stay alive for quite some time until the doctor pronounced his death at 01.00 pm.

Despite intensive medical attention, Pilot Sugeng cannot be saved as his condition was too unpromising.

"Pilot Sugeng has passed away. I've been notified by his family just now," The recently deceased high school best friend informed in RSPAD Gatot SUbroto, Central Jakarta, Friday (8/5/2015).

From the observation of Liputan6.com correspondent, the pilot family’s hopefulness and initial relief immediately turned into a condition where they are completely shocked in disbelief.

Pilot Sugeng was scheduled to perform training for the 2015 SEA Games at Pondok Cabe Airbase before he finally ceased to exist on Thursday 7 May 2015.

The plane belonging to the Indonesian Aerosport Federation was deformed from its original shape shortly after its engine sparked fire. (Akp/Tnt)
