Eastern Indonesia Industrial Investment Valued at Rp 155 Trillion

The construction of industrial sites in the Eastern part of Indonesia is expected to make the nation profitable in many areas.

Liputan6.com, Jakarta The Indonesian Minister of Industry, Saleh Husin claimed that the development of 7 industrial sites along with the construction of 11 small to medium scale industries in the Eastern area of the country is showing a positive trend where it is in line with the initially expected target. 

The vested interest for this particular sector has reached Rp 155 trillion and has employed as many as 600 thousand workers.

These areas include, Bitung (North Sulawesi), Palu (Central Sulawesi), Morowali ( Central Sulawesi), Konawe (South- East Sulawesi), Bantaeng (South Sulawesi), East Halmahera (North Maluku), and  Bintuni bay (West Papua). These developments will be followed by the construction of 11 small to medium scale industries around the area.

For industrial site in Bitung, it will be constructed on a land as large as 435 hectare, allowing for the possibility of expenditure as much as Rp 2 trillion to be injected for its development whilst gaining 90 thousand workers. 

The area is proven to be fruitful in terms of its fisheries, logistics and coconut industries.

"The Industrial Minister has facilitated the development of Bitung industrial site since as early as 2008. The documents of development plan including the master plan, strategic plan and detail engineering plan have all been organized since that year," Minister Saleh further explained.
