Badrodin Seen as Playing Key Role in Restoring KPK-Polri Relation

Liputan6.com, Jakarta President Joko 'Jokowi' Widodo has officially inaugurated Badrodin Haiti as the Head of Indonesian Police. 

It is with a lot of hope, that the recently elected Head of Indonesian Police could restore and improve the slightly damaged relationship between the Indonesian Police (Polri) and Indonesian Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) as to assure the establishment of cooperation in combating corruption. 

One of KPK Commissioners, Adnan Pandu Praja revealed how the normalization of the initially conflicting bond between the two institutions will be feasible especially with both sides showing their utmost commitment to allow for such relationship restoration in front of President Jokowi.

"We are hoping for Badrodin Haiti to restore and maintain the relationship of Polri with KPK. Both Polri and KPK have signed the commitment to start a program using this year’s budget in front of President jokowi," Adnan Pandu Praja informed through a written statement, Friday (17/4/2015).

The temporary Vice Deputy of KPK, Indriyanto Seno Adji also welcomes the inauguration and such commitment with a lot of hope. 

This official commitment will mark the commencement of police department castrating process as well as improving its image to the public.

"In the shorter term, it is very much desirable to gain the once lost public trust," Indriyanto explained.

Indriyanto also hopes for Badrodin to avoid any potential conflict that may spark yet another tumult between the two institutions and promote cooperative gesture instead.

President Jokowi inaugurated Badrodin as the successor of General Sutarman. President Jokowi initially proposed Budi Gunawan to be inaugurated. 

The intention was immediately overlooked as soon as Budi named as a suspect by KPK. (Akp/Ein)
