Severely Injured TNI Soldier Treated After Falling off a Building

Liputan6.com, Jakarta - The occurence of a considerably fatal incident during the Indonesian Armed Forces (TNI) large-scale event, made it to the top of the headline.

President Joko 'Jokowi' Widodo was present at the large-scale ceremonial, as he was considered as honoured citizen by TNI special force. 

The event took place at TNI Headquarter in Cilangkap, East Jakarta.

1 TNI soldier was performing an anti-terrorist attraction along with other participating personnel in front of President Jokowi, TNI Commander Moeldoko and Working Cabinet Ministers when he accidentally fell from the building where he executed the simulation.

The Indonesian Navy Head of Information Department, Manahan Simorangkir revealed the identity of the injured soldier as one belonging to 'Detasemen Jala Mengkara' (Denjaka).

"That soldier comes from Denjaka division," he explained, Thursday (16/4/2015). 

Manahan continues explaining how the the soldier is seriously injured shortly, after falling off a building 5 metres away from the ground. 

TNI medical team immediately dispatched following the incident. They evacuated the victim as soon as possible in trying to provide quick medical attention.

"His condition is quite unpromising. He was directed directly to the Mintohardjo hospital," Manahan added.

As observed by Liputan6.com, the incident occurred during the anti-terror simulation that was meant to be presented to the countries' leading figures. ‎

The simulation storyline was about an operation to rescue held-hostage prominent figure inside a building packed with terrorists. The preliminary stage of the operation was the deployment of soldiers from a chopper belonging to TNI. 

Once they have reached the top of the building, they continued the mission by ambushing the terrorists which require them wrap a rope around their waist and hang themselves down to the targeted floor. 

This then led to the unwanted incident. 

They were assigned to barge into the third floor of the building which is situated 3 metres below them.

It was already apparent that the currently injured soldier was struggling as he tried to do the same routine, as the other two besides him. 

The rope wrapped around him did not seem to be able to carry his weight so then he fell with his face and body facing the ground.

The moment when the soldier fell, a Jeep was driving towards the fallen body and almost ran over him.

Dozens of TNI personnel immediately approached the fallen soldier and evacuated him. (Akp/Tnt)
