Classroom CCTV Installed to Prevent Cheating on National Test

Liputan6.com, Jakarta Today marks the commencement of the 2015 Indonesian National Test (UN). Hundreds of thousands students spent months engulfed in a sea of exam materials as they aimed for a knowledgably- improved mentality in facing the 2015 National Test.

To avoid the potentiality of cheating or any other equally hindering factors throughout the exam period, 1 Blitar High School, East Java installed a number of CCTV placed around the classroom. 

The CCTV functions as a monitoring instrument to help invigilators observatory efforts throughout the exam period.

As many as 360 UN participants in this particular high school were placed in 18 different classrooms where the CCTV has been installed.

As shown on Liputan 6 Siang SCTV on Monday (13/5/2015), the recently installed security camera will be monitored live by the teachers and assigned invigilators from the Education Department in the control room.

The CCTV is expected to help students maximize their potential as the presence of such monitoring instrument unquestionably foster transparency and the need to avoid any cheating intention.

Extra strict monitoring is also done in Sleman, Yogyakarta where the security camera is directly linked to the monitor screen located in the teachers' room as to avoid any attempt to cheat especially with their every move shown vividly through the installed CCTV.

Apart from CCTV as monitoring instrument,  two assigned supervisors' placement inside the class also deemed neccesary. 

According to the school committee, the CCTV has been installed in class rooms where the exam takes place. 

It is with hopeful ambition, the direct and strict supervision for this examination could contribute to the effectiveness of the overall nationwide- held education program. (Akp/Riz)
