National Narcotics Agency: RI Viewed as Drug-Dealing Destination

Liputan6.com, Jakarta - The Indonesian National Narcotics Agency (BNN) views the nation as a safe haven for international-scale network drug-dealers to make money. 

This outlook is not without reason. Entering 2015, there are at least 4 drugs cases which have been revealed.

All suspects detained have been identified as members of a larger international group which found comfort in the Indonesian arena with the continually rising demands.  

Crystal meth is the drugs that these people have previously distributed to the society.

"This whole March, we have successfully revealed at least 4 large- scale cases," Deputy of Drugs- Eradication from BNN, Deddy Fauzi El Hakim informed at BNN building, Cawang, East Jakarta, Friday (27/3/2015).

The first case revealed is the China-Malaysia-Indonesia network which was broadcasted on March 13 2015.

The suspects were captured in Central Jakarta as they possessed as heavy as 49.3 kg of Crystal meth.

The second network is the Pakistan-Indonesia one with the police findings of 15 kg worth of crystal meth and 22 thousand ecstasy pills.

The third case involved two local people with the proof of 25 kg crystal meth found as the authorities captured them.

The fourth and most recent one is the capture of again, two locals with the evidence of 2.8 kg crystal meth and 2.700 Happy Five pills.

Deddy explained how the four aforementioned cases suggest that Indonesia is currently under drugs-attack and preventive measures are of great importance to halt the exacerbation of its widespread.

"We currently have a mission to massively and collectively eradicate drug-dealers. The fact that many international syndicate of drug dealers have been captured shows that Indonesia has been chosen by them, to be the place where they can make money by distributing the drugs," Deddy explained.
