Vice President Jusuf Kalla to Launch Two Iconic Projects in Jambi

Liputan6.com, Jakarta Just like President Joko 'Jokowi' Widodo, Vice President Jusuf Kalla is equally preoccupied with domestic agenda as he is now in Jambi to conform to the schedules given.

The primary purpose for his visitation this Saturday (28/3/2015) to Jambi is to officially launch the opening of the Gentala Arasy tower and 532 meter long pedestrian bridge above Batanghari River.

These two soon- to- be established projects are considered as symbolic and iconic to the province. The development of both Gentala Arasy tower and the pedestrian bridge has been done for the past few years. Gentala Arasy tower is located across the Jambi city. 

The facilities include, movie theatre and museum which, unlike other colloquial cinemas, the movie theatre only and specifically presents a documentary story- telling the history of Islam and how it becomes deeply entrenched in the province of Jambi's culture.

The tower was deliberately built across the city of Jambi as the area is called the 'Islam village' and it is particularly appropriate for the Islamic documentary screening to be done there. 

The area is also filled with historical evidence of the Islamic civilizations.

Apart from witnessing and initiating the establishment of the iconic projects, Vice President Jusuf Kalla will also take time to meet with Jambi mosque managing committee. 

This is due to the fact that, Jusuf Kalla does not only play a role as a Vice President but also the Head of Indonesian Mosque Managing Committee, thus it is imperative that he continues strengthening the relationship among those in the committee and perform monitoring every now and then.

In trying to establish further safety assurance for the Vice President's visit to Jambi, as many as 2000 Indonesian Armed Forces (TNI) personnel have been readied since Thursday 26 March 2015 and now they are being stationed in Jambi to safeguard the number two Indonesian man.

The Commander of Indonesian Military Resort number 042 from Garuda Putih, Harianto informed that there will be other police personnel deployed to the province to secure the Vice President.

"As I coordinated with the local police, we have agreed to deploy as many as 900 police personnel in addition to the 2000 TNI personnel," Harianto informed in Jambi on Friday 27 March 2015. (Akp/Riz)
