Jokowi to Spend More Time at the Bogor Palace

Liputan6.com, Jakarta In the next three months, the Presidential Palace in Bogor will be the main place where President Joko ‘Jokowi’ Widodo perform his presidential task. The area that is well known to have heavy rainfall will be the place where the President holds large- scale meetings with a number of influential figures.

Apart from the fact that he wants to do large- scale meeting there, Jokowi thinks that the place is exceptionally tranquil and away from the hecticness of the city. He is hoping that, with a better environment, he will be able to work well despite the insurmountable pressures he has to face at the moment.

"He didn't ask for much, he never ask for anything luxurious he just wants to be at Bogor Presidential Palace. It is that simple. So, many of his agenda will be carried out here, especially the big ones," The Cabinet Secretary Andi Wdjojanto said at the Bogor Presidential Palace, West Java, Friday (13/02/2015).

Andi further explained how after today’s agenda, there are new agenda piling up. The staff at the Bogor Presidential Palace has set up the place as comfortable as possible for the presence of the President during his stay there.

"So for example, this Friday he has an event, next Friday, he will have another similar event. So, at least every week, he has to have an agenda. We have prepared and redied the place in case the President confirms his willigness to stay there," Andi continued. 

Bogor Presidential Palace is well known for its refreshing and less-polluted air. It was also Indonesian first President Sukarno’s favourite place. The venue has been a silent witness to the event where Sukarno handed over his power to former President Soeharto in 1966. (Akp)
