RI Embassy in Australia Flooded with Mails Regarding Bali Nine

RI citizens in Australia are encouraged to remain on high alert and abide the rules as to prevent any provocative conflicts between RI-AU

Liputan6.com, Jakarta The Indonesian Embassy in Australia (KBRI) has issued an appeal instructing all Indonesians living in Australia to remain on high alert due to the recent situation. This means, each individual in Australia originating from Indonesia has to stay away from troubles or live accordingly to avoid issues with the authorities there.

The fact that two alleged Bali Nine ringleaders Andrew Chan and Myuran Sukumaran are going to be executed soon by the Indonesian Attorney General has caused worldwide popular outcry. The two men have shown that they are improving with both of them evidently contributing to the correctional institutions throughout the years since they were being captured. However, Indonesian President Joko ‘Jokowi’ Widodo is firm on his decision to continue the execution on these two men.

In the last few weeks, the issue about the two Australian men that will be executed in Indonesia has been populating the local media in Australia. This of course, raises both pros and cons with many criticizing the method used by Indonesia in its capital punishment for drugs- offenders.

The Indonesian Embassy in Canberra spokeperson, Sade Bimantara said on Friday (13/02/2015) that the embassy has received many correspondences regarding the Bali Nine impending execution case. This has been shown by the ABC channel.

"We got thousands of correspondeces in the form of emails, letters, phone calls and many more which of course will be forwarded back to Jakarta," Bimantara said.

KBRI encourages all Indonesian living in Australia to remain calm and continue their daily activities whilst stay safe and away from problems that might make them subjects for criminality there. KBRI also encourages Indonesian citizens in Australia to carry identity cards everywhere and always abide the rules.

Lastly, they are also encouraged by the KBRI to avoid conflicts or any provocative actions through the social media.
