Japanese Investors Interested, Jokowi’s Ambition Came True

Liputan6.com, Jakarta President Joko 'Jokowi' Widodo's ambition to expand the investment opportunities in Indonesia has finally come true with the Coordinating Body of Capital Investment (BKPM) revealing that there are at least 8 companies originating from Japan who express their seriousness and interest in investing in Indonesia. Apart from helping Indonesia’s economy to flourish, the relationship between the two nations will be greatly strengthened.

The Deputy of BKPM who arranges the promotion for capital investment, Himawan Hariyoga said that, out of the 8 companies interested, up until now only four them have shown their commitment to expose their investment value.

"As for Japan, so far until the 10^th of February, we have 8 companies seriously considering to invest in Indonesia. But, only 4 of them showing their true commitment. So 4 of them have expressed their investment value," Himawan said, Jakarta, Thursday (12/02/2015).

He further explains how each of the four Japanese companies who have shown their commitment to invest in Indonesia will contribute in the industry of raw materials located at Dumai Riau and Cilegon, Banten with the total investment of US$ 260 million.

Additionally, the expansion of automotive industry will be located at Bekasi, West Java with the investment value of US$ 600 million. They are also planning to invest on the industry of theme park construction as much as US$ 430 million. Lastly, for the seedling cultivation for dairy cows, they will be injecting money with the investment value of Rp 25,8 million.

"The total is around US$ 1,3 billion from October 22 2014 through to 10 of February 2015," Himawan further explained.

Himawan said he could not expose the names of the Japanese who are willing to invest in Indonesia because of confidentiality matter. He said that there will be a perfect timing to reveal the names of the investors.

"No, I cannot expose them now. For companies, we cant really reveal their identities," he concluded. (Akp/Ein)
