The Impetus of AirAsia QZ8501 Incident Will Be Based on Black Box

Authority avoids premature speculation as to the reason behind the aircraft incident.

Liputan6.com, Jakarta - The AirAsia QZ8501 incident has brought with it, a profound impact in the Indonesian aviation industry. Although the evacuation team has somewhat been successful in discovering a number of deceased passengers and debris belonging to the missing aircraft, the black box has not yet been found. It is of course very important for the authority to find this object as it can help them unravel the truth behind the incident.

Indonesian Air Force is fully involved in the search mission of AirAsia QZ8501 who has been reported missing since December 28 2014. Right now, all personnel including the evacuation team are working together to locate the black box so that further investigation can take place.

"What we need right now is the prayer from everyone for the black box to be found. With black box found, we can then know what was actually going on up there, especially in the cockpit. We will be able to know the last conversation they had and from there we can analyse it," The head of Indonesian Air Force Staff Madya Agus Supriyatna stated at the Presidential Palance, Jakarta, Friday (2/1/2015).

Agus is trying to avoid making any negative speculation regarding the missing aircraft as he thinks in order to make a conclusion as to what was the culprit behind the incident, the involving authority needs to justify their statement from what they have analysed from the black box.

"We cant be too sure if the black box has not been found," he answered. However, he also shares how the potent cumulonimbus and bad weather can be counted as many of the reasons for the incident.

"According to my experience, it is obvious that the could is very dangerous as I have been stuck in one. Cumulonimbus cloud must be avoided by any aircraft. You can go to the right, left, up or down or retrieve back to original position if you cant go through the cloud," Agus Supriyatna explained.

AirAsia QZ8501 en route Surabaya- Singapore lost contact with the air traffic controller on Sunday 28 December 2014 at around 6.17 am local time. The aircraft carried 155 passengers left Surabaya bound for Singapore at 05.20 am local time.
